New York City Plus a Comic Convention

I have a pretty full day today even before I get to the New York City Comic Convention. I catch the local trolley at 7:00 AM, which takes me to Pease Air Base (Portsmouth New Hampshire Bus Terminal). The bus to South Station, Boston leaves at 8:00 AM. The Acela Express to Penn Station, New York City, arrives hopefully around 3:00. I'll check into my hotel and race to the Javits Convention Center. The exhibition Hall opens to the public at 4:00, but they give out tickets to certain events, first come, first served, beginning at 3:30. I honestly don't care about the special events, I have so much catching up to do, the Exhibition Hall will keep me busy. Last year was the first time that a major comic convention was held in NYC in a long time. Thousands of people (many with tickets) couldn't get into the convention hall - too little space, too many people. Hopefully with double the exhibition space, better ticket control, more registration space and larger aisles, crowds, and crowd control, won't be a problem. There's a lot of pent up demand

There's the convention, then there's New York City.

And I have two full days. The weather should be pretty good, so I want to head down to Coney Island and just wander around with my camera. Things are getting ripped up, so I don't know how much of the old structures are still standing. I'm bad, I shouldn't have waited. It'll be like going to a wake. If you don't go to the wakes of others, who'll go to your wake? But will you really care? With my past crimes against decency and good sense, attendance figures at my wake will be the least of my worries. There's night photography in the square, eating cheesecake and pickles until I'm sick, catching up on my music played on really big speakers and making the pilgrimage to B & H Photo. I never tire of visiting the City. For those who, unfortunately, are staying home:
