Steam Engine 1150 Puebla Mexico
I've always admired the photographers of old who traveled the West documenting the development of the railroad system. It's been my dream to someday create an image of an "Engine" that captures the majesty of these machines. I've visited the railroad yard in Puebla, Mexico several times. The second visit was early in the morning. The soldiers/guards on duty were being chewed out by their superior officer. When he finished with them, he noticed me with my camera and hustled me out of the yard. I've found very little information about this incredible display of railroad history. If there are any railroad fans out there with any information, I'd welcome the help. Drop me an email. Here's some info from the internet Wiki and one of my latest efforts:
The Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos (National Museum of Mexican Railroads), located in the old Mexicano station, houses a collection of many unique specimens, including steam engines, passenger coaches, cabooses and diesel engines. Most notably it has a pair of PA1 diesel engines, the last specimens of their kind, with one of them still in working condition (the DH-19).
