Busy Beach Day - Cannonball Contest- Informative Signage

The sign at the entrance to the State beach said: "Beach crowded- Great weather and high tide". That's a lot of information for a parking lot sign! Despite looming storm clouds, people were still arriving. I passed a bridge where adults and kids were jumping into the water. A forty something year old man was treading water, pleading for a young boy to jump from the bridge. I stuck around for about five minutes, primarily to watch another big guy do cannonballs. He was hitting bottom, complaining he thought his shoulder was dislocated, but he dove again and again. His last dive was a back flip, graceful "bulk". The dad was still treading water, pleading for his kid to jump. The kid is going to need a lot of professional help when he gets older.
I've resisted the urge to stop for a snack. Petey's in Rye beckons me each time I pass!
Heart rate during ride was 147. Average speed decreased, lots of people on road- fiddling with cell phones, lobster rolls, while driving two ton instruments of death- 13.2 miles per hour! Current weight 213 pounds!
