I'll let you in on a secret!
Actually two secrets for the price of one. If you visit Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Isle, Maine, take the drive to Southwest Harbor and hike, actually it's a walk, along the Wonderland Trail. There is parking on route 102A. This is an easy 1.4 round trip walk that travels along some unique coastal rock formations. My brothers decribe the scenery as "Lunar".
I am still committed to weight loss. I quickly realized that a $ 4,000 bicycle was not going to make hill climbing noticeably less painful. I have discovered the hidden power of the Garmin GPS to begin to visualize the progress in my training. Each day I will upload my ride, walk or jog into the web based, and free, software Motion Based. This software captures the distance speed and altidude of my activity from my Garmin Vista CX. The activity is displayed in tab form, graphically on a map and also linked to Google Earth.
I've only just begun to utilize the features of the software and GPS. I need to remember to save the track when I finish my activity. If you jump in the car while the device is recording, your two mile walk may become much longer, with an average speed of 50 plus miles per hour. My ego doesn't need inflating. My waist needs the work. Hopefully this new combination will help me monitor my progress. Current weight 220 pounds!

Blogs are ranked in various ways, and one of the more significant ones (besides linking or subscribing) happens via Technorati. In brief, Technorati tracks millions of blogs and lets users search them, tag them, and rank them. If you own a blog, or if you read them, I recommend signing up with Technorati (it's free and takes a couple minutes). And if you enjoy this blog, I encourage you, please, to "favorite" it.
