Notes from a happy camper...
Today is an exciting day! Apart from it
being a random Monday in July, much like any other day, today also
marks the official beginning of what I like to refer to as the Egan
weight loss challenge! I am an Egan, and my uncles and myself all
could use a little more fitness and a little less of the munchies in
our lives. My Uncle Tom is preparing to bike 505 miles through great
elevation changes in Arizona at the end of September along with my
father, who got on the training bandwagon about 6 months prior to
today. My other Uncle, the great Uncle Jack and myself, are not
planning on such great physical endeavors, but we are still embarking
on our own smaller goals, still yet to be determined. In the meantime,
we can all agree that losing 20 pounds would make everyone a lighter,
healthier, and ultimately more happier, so that is our collective goal
for the time being. I should add that we have an ending date to see
how far we have succeeded as of September 27th, coinciding with my Uncle Tom's
departure date for his great adventure in AZ.
Along the way
we plan to take pictures, enjoy fine cuisine, and explore new areas of
New England via bicycle and also by foot. We're doing our part to be
green!
As for the weight loss endeavors, I'm hoping to be
motivated and provide motivation to the rest of the Egan clan through
the medium of a little friendly competition. Hopefully the end result
will be that everyone is a little lighter and healthier by the 27th of
September! Stay tuned for more updates and information, because we
Egans do nothing in moderation and without some form of fun tied in, so
it is sure to be entertaining at the very least!!
