The wind howled my son!

Well maybe not howling, but the average wind speed was 15.3 mph compared to 4.9 mph yesterday. I averaged 12.3 mph and felt pretty good. Recognized a dog walker from yesterday and a couple of riders. Used the mountain bike again, adjusted the brake cable to get better roll. Can't wait to get the road bike back from repairs!
Parades are among the oldest forms of organized celebrations. They are said to date back to 3000 BC as religious observances. Romans held civil parades called triumphs to celebrate special occasions. American celebrations range from observances of important historical events, such as July 4th, to religious and ethnic holidays to secular and sports events. From community and high school homecoming parades to grand, national events, Americans love to celebrate.
Today most people agree that patriotism involves service to their country, but many disagree on how to best perform such service. Some believe that the national government speaks for a country; therefore, all its citizens should actively support government policies and actions. Others argue that a true patriot speaks out when convinced that their country is following an unwise or unjust action. There was evidence of all points of view in the Bar Harbor 4'th of July parade.
My average heart rate was 150. Current weight 216 pounds!

Blogs are ranked in various ways, and one of the more significant ones (besides linking or subscribing) happens via Technorati. In brief, Technorati tracks millions of blogs and lets users search them, tag them, and rank them. If you own a blog, or if you read them, I recommend signing up with Technorati (it's free and takes a couple minutes). And if you enjoy this blog, I encourage you, please, to "favorite" it.
