It's a tourist stereotype, but it's fun, a hansom cab ride around Central Park

The first hansom cabs appeared in New York City in 1862. For a romantic carriage ride through the park, hail a hansom cab at the park's south end, across from the Plaza hotel. It's a quintessential NYC tourist thing to do - take a hansom cab ride around Central Park. It's a tourist stereotype, but it's fun and not something you do every day, which must be why everyone does it.
