Well not really but I still have a sugar buzz. I was at a "book" festival this morning and there were some vendors passing out samples. I had grabbed an organic yogurt, it was good, so when I passed by the stand again I grabbed another. It was in different packaging but I started eating it without reading. I should have. It was yogurt packaged, and marketed, I assume, to kids. I was flying after a couple of mouthfuls. My brother is diabetic so I assume I have a low sugar tolerance.
There are differences in how the food groups are prepared for their target audiences. I would assume that Cheerios, served only with milk, would not be a kid favorite. It would contain only 1g of sugar. Now, in a blindfold test, after the Cheerios offer the kid a bowl of All Natural Koala Crisp from Enviro Kids, sit back and watch the fun begin. A small bowl of this, a 30g serving size, contains 11g sugar. My god, its one third sugar! Then send the kids off to school munching a Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll, 55g sugar, 813 calories, and don't be surprised when, in a few years, your kid come home with letters from the school nurse mentioning your child suffers from attention deficit disorder. Add that to the humiliation of the annual trips searching for "fashionable" wide waisted, short legged, cool looking clothes for junior.
Yes, I know there is great debate about the actuality of the disorder, its causes, and the use of stimulant medications in its treatment. But whatever we call it, we are sending kids out the door and off to school "jacked" on a chemical high.

In my not too distant past, if I were to see a street person, a bum, sleeping in a door front or on a park bench, I would have kept my distance and perhaps shrugged my shoulders.: He had the "smarts" to ask someone where to go, I didn't
